He toki a Tāne is a partnership program to encourage community engagement and environmental stewardship in the Picton area. Residents & businesses of Picton can nominate themselves &/or others as He toki a Tāne (Nature’s Champion). An ideal candidate will be doing the work to help make Picton predator free, and providing a safe, healthy, and thriving environment for the native bird species. Whether that be through urban (garden) trapping or planting native species and food sources for the native bird populations.
