He Toki a Tāne is a partnership program with Daltons to encourage environmental stewardship in the Picton area.
Residents & businesses of Picton can nominate themselves or others as He toki a Tāne (Nature’s Champion). An ideal candidate will be doing the work to help make Picton predator free providing a safe, healthy and thriving environment for the native bird species. Whether that be through urban garden trapping or planting native species and food sources for the native bird populations. The more details you can provide as to why your nominee should be named as He toki a Tāne, the more it helps us in the selection process. Nominees must reside within Picton Dawn Chorus project area which includes Picton, Waikawa, and surrounding hills, from Ngakuta Bay to Whatamango Bay. Nominations for this round are open until 19th April 2024
